As the hymnwriter penned, “What a privilege to carry, everything to God in prayer.”
Join me and others from across the country and around the world on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, for the fifth annual Eating Disorders Day of Prayer. We will gather to pray via Zoom at 7:00 am, 12:00 pm and at 7:00 pm (all times ET). Choose the best time for you, or attend all three prayer sessions! You are invited to attend whether you pray sometimes, always or never! If you feel uncomfortable praying in a group setting, please join us and pray silently, as there is no obligation or pressure to pray aloud.
Prayer is sacred; prayer is powerful. Max Lucado said it this way, “Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the One who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference.” What a relief! We don’t have to present perfectly polished prayers (as if there are any), but put our faith in God, the only One who has the ability and power to hear and answer our prayers (1 Pet 3:12).
During my recovery from an eating disorder, the faithful prayers of my friends and family were impactful. Hearing someone say they were praying when they didn’t fully understand my struggle or had no idea what to say was a huge encouragement. Those words kept me going on days I wanted to quit. By the grace of God, who I am today is largely due to those prayers and our God, who gently softened my heart and led me step by step to envision and embrace a new perspective. A perspective based on Truth, a perspective based on God’s love and grace, and one not based on my good behaviour or adherence to my “good-Christian-girl” rules. I will forever be thankful for those who faithfully prayed for me!
It would be an honour to have you join us for the 2026 Eating Disorders Day of Prayer. Whether you struggle with food and body image issues, have been diagnosed with an eating disorder or are overwhelmed and stuck in a rut of having to carefully calculate your food and exercise each day (disordered eating) – we want you to know freedom is possible for you, and we would love for you to join us! If you are caring for and loving someone who struggles in any way with food or body image issues, please know there is hope, and you are invited to join us in prayer as well. Click here to register. There is no charge for this event, but you do need to register to receive the Zoom meeting information and email reminders of the event as the day draws near.
This event is hosted by Beth Ask in partnership with FINDINGbalance. It is my privilege to join these two ministries for this important annual event!
