God has been faithful.
Two years ago, Space For Grace was launched. I stepped into that season scared and unsure, with little clarity about what was next. I did not—and still do not—have a carefully crafted business plan. What I did have was the deep knowing that God had given me a second chance at life after a lifelong struggle with anorexia.
Over many years, God met me through therapists, counsellors, coaches, and faithful friends who helped me begin to see the truth of who I am. More importantly, He gave me the faith and courage to believe that what He says about me in His Word is true. After a healing journey that spanned nearly a decade, God gently led me into freedom from food rules and into a life marked by joy—even in the midst of circumstances that were far from perfect.
I knew these years of life had been given to me for a purpose. Not for grand or impressive goals, but for faithful obedience. God was not asking me to build something impressive; He was inviting me into daily surrender—trusting His plans, using the resources He provided, and stewarding the time, gifts, and opportunities He placed before me.
God is faithful. That is not simply something He does; it is who He is.
Any markers of “success” that may exist in my life are not the result of my striving or worthiness. Everything I have is because of the grace of God. He remains faithful even when I falter. When fear begins to overtake my mind, He lovingly draws me back to Himself, reminding me that His faithfulness is my shield and my refuge: “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge” (Psalm 91:4).
Over the past two years, God has opened doors I never imagined—opportunities to testify to the gospel of the grace of God (Acts 20:24). Speaking engagements, group facilitation, and one-on-one recovery coaching were once things that would have left me frozen by fear. Today, they are gifts I receive with humility and gratitude.
Again and again, my heart returns to this steady truth: “The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need” (Psalm 23:1). This promise has anchored me. It reminds me that God knows what I need and when I need it, and that I am never alone. My good and faithful Shepherd walks with me through every high and every low (Psalm 23:4).
Each morning, I ask God for renewed awareness of His goodness and faithfulness. I see it in the brilliant colours of the sunrise, in daffodils pushing through hardened soil, in a healthy, able body, in children’s laughter, and in the simple gift of food on my table. Each day is a gift—an opportunity to point others to the hope we have because of Jesus.
As we look ahead—to 2026 and to this third year of Space For Grace—there are unchanging truths about God that we can cling to:
- God’s grace has no expiration date and no limits (2 Corinthians 12:9).
- He is always near and never leaves us (Deuteronomy 31:6; Isaiah 41:10).
- He looks on us with steadfast love (Psalm 103:11; 1 John 4:9–10).
- His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:21–26).
- He provides exactly what we need, right when we need it (2 Corinthians 9:8; Philippians 4:19).
- He is sovereign and fully in control (Proverbs 16:9; Isaiah 55:8–11).
We do not need what the world promises—slimmer bodies, more money, exotic vacations, or greater status—to have a meaningful or successful year. What we need is to turn our eyes upon Jesus and to view our lives through the lens of His faithful love. No matter what changes, improves, or becomes more difficult, God remains the same.
Friends, life is not always easy—but with Jesus, it is possible. If you are struggling, please know that you are not alone. Would you consider reaching out to one trusted person today—to share your burden or ask for prayer? Whatever your next right step may be, I pray you have the courage to take it.
You cannot go back and change the beginning, but you can begin right where you are. Do not remain stuck in what has already passed. Look to Jesus, who offers fresh courage and daily strength. We are always learning, always growing—and all of it is possible through Christ, our constant and faithful source of strength.
If you find yourself longing for a slower, safer space to notice God’s grace at work in your own story, Space For Grace exists for that very reason. It is a place to pause, to breathe, and to be reminded—again and again—of what is already true: you are not alone, and you are deeply and unconditionally loved by God.
Whether your journey feels steady or fragile right now, you are welcome here. My prayer is that this space continues to gently point hearts toward freedom, hope, and the faithful presence of Jesus—one step at a time.
